TERMS AND CONDITIONS at The Dog Groomer

Animal Welfare

Your dogs health, welfare and happiness is our primary concern here at The Dog Groomer.  A dog will only be groomed within its tolerance of the grooming procedure. If your dog becomes fearful, aggressive, or uncomfortable whilst grooming, we, The Dog Groomer reserves the right the end the groom or offer a work around which may incur further charges.

If we uncover anything that you may not be aware of, we will inform you and may suggest seeking veterinary advice.

Although unlikely, accidents can happen during grooming.  Should anything happen during a groom and we are unable to get hold of you in the first instance, you authorise us to seek emergency veterinary treatment.

Neglected and Matted Coats

Here at The Dog Groomer, we practice in humanity over vanity. If we are presented with a neglected coat and believe, in our professional opinion, it is kinder to remove the coat than it is to de-mat then this will be done in accordance with The Animal Welfare Act 2006. If your dogs coat is matted and requires a shave down, we will advise of the possible outcomes and will request a Shave Down Waiver to be signed, releasing The Dog Groomer from any liability of the post grooming effects.

Whilst we will make every effort to identify this as part of the pre-groom consultation, there may be occasions where the degree of matting cannot be fully identified until we commence the groom. In this event we will make every effort to contact you to discuss and inform you, however if this is not possible we will do what we believe is in the best interest of the welfare of the dog.

Also, there is an additional charge of 15 euros, due to the wear on equipment, additional products used, as well as time and skill needed to remove matting.

We photograph and/or video every case of neglect brought into the salon for grooming and we also save a sample of fur. We reserve the right to use these items as we deem appropriate.

Fleas

Fleas are not welcome in this salon. If you think your dog may have fleas, please advise us before prior to your appointment. If fleas are found upon your dog an extra 10 euro will be charged towards sterilization and deep cleaning costs.

Cancellations and No Shows

We respectfully require 24 hours notice for cancellation of an appointment so that this slot can be offered to someone else. Anything under 24 hours will require a 50% charge of your usual groom price.

If you fail to show up for an appointment, a 50% charge of usual groom price will be applied, and a non-refundable 50% deposit will be taken to secure your next booking.

Time Keeping

At The Dog Groomer, we pride ourselves on working solely 1 to 1 with any dog, so that they have our full attention, and ensure a calm working environment. We expect prompt arrival and collection. When you drop off your dog, we will give you an estimated time for collection, and will send a 15 minute prompt before end of service. If you are then more than 15 minutes late collecting your dog a late collection charge of 5 euros per 30 minutes will be incurred.

Groom Feedback

We will give you feedback after each groom detailing what we have done and anything we recommend between grooms for coat maintenance.  We are always contactable for any help or advice you may require and are happy to help.

If you are unhappy with any aspect of your groom, please let us know as soon as possible and we will be happy to discuss and/or amend where necessary.

Photographs

We may photograph or video your dog during its groom which may be used on our website or social media.  If you’d prefer for your dog not to be photographed, please let us know.
